Kara DioGuardi Hairstyles

Kara DioGuardi’s Latest Hair and Fashion Styling

MTV booked Radio City Music Hall in New York City for their 2009 Video Music Awards. Among the attendees was Kara DioGuardi. The “American Idol” judge looked splendid on the red carpet as she posed for a few pictures.Kara’s makeup was perfect. She highlighted her eyes with eyeliner and a bit of silvery blue eyeshadow; pale shades work wonders to bring out her eyes. She wore a light pink lipstick that looked great. Kara’s hair was done in a simple style that nonetheless looked beautiful on her. She pulled her hair half up and let it all hang naturally down her back. It’s a great style that is easy to do and looks great on any woman. While she didn’t dress it up with any hair accessories, she still looked wonderful.

Kara had on the best pair of high heels at the VMAs. The straps around her ankles were a black, see-thru material, similar to mesh or lace and the straps that went over her toes were black. They were gorgeous and could be worn with many types of outfits. Speaking of outfits, Kara wore a black sheath dress that was off one shoulder. The dress showed off her figure without showing off too much skin and accented her waist with a wide black belt. Kara accessorized with a black clutch, silver teardrop shaped earrings, a silver armband, and a large silver bangle bracelet. Kara is proof that a woman of any age doesn’t need to wear skimpy clothes to look good, on or off the red carpet.

Wavy Hair

How to style your hair wavy and wild

Wavy hair gives your look a totally laid-back, casual look, which feels especially chic if you're dressed up for a cocktail party where everyone else will have their hair tightly wound up. Little black dress + wild hair = unabashed sex appeal, always. Wanna get wavy hair right this minute? Try on wavy hairstyles in our virtual hairstyle studio.

Wild Runway Waves

Wild waves are a classic runway trend, and this time the look has plenty of volume and lift. Layers give wavy hair a distressed look that’s beachy, piecey and so right now.

If you have naturally wavy hair, you're already on your way to achieving a surfer-perfect effect. Simply wash your hair, apply volumizer at the roots to achieve plenty of volume, blowdry until slightly damp and scrunch from ends-to-roots with your hands as you finish blowdrying. Once your hair is completely dry, try a little soft-hold hairspray (you never want waves to be stiff or over-styled).

To make naturally straight hair wavy, twist damp hair into small sections, twist the sections around your finger and use a bobby pin to hold each section in place at the scalp. Leave the tiny twists in for about thirty minutes or until you finish drying your hair. Let it fall down (do not brush!) and use your fingers to create lift at the roots and a little extra tousle throughout (scrunch, scrunch, scrunch). Curl the ends with a curling iron for a more polished look.
Wild Surfer Girl Waves

A surfer girl's hair is tousled by salt water and kissed by the sun. If you want to look like a true California beach babe, you can easily cheat to get this look. A texturizing wax or spray mimics the effect of sun, sand and saltwater, without the damage. Mousse also works to achieve a wet look. Highlights are a must for an aspiring surfer girl.

If your hair is pin straight, get wavy surfer girl hair by tearing an tee shirt into 1-inch strips. Separate dry hair into 2-inch sections, twist around each fabric strip as if it were a curler, and secure with a loose knot at the scalp. Since these soft, homemade curlers won’t disrupt sweet dreams, leave them in while you snooze, and scrunch with texturizing product upon waking.
To style, take a few strands of hair above the ears and pin them back to create a half up, half down hairdo. Pin the hair where it meets in the middle with two or three bobby pins, hidden underneath the hair. Pull out a wavy strand or two to frame your face, don a colorful tank top and minimal makeup you'll look beach-sexy without setting foot on the sand. --Stephanie Simons

How to Create Wavy Hair with a Flat Iron

Add Waves to Hair Without a Curling Iron
(A step-by-step guide to using a flat iron for beachy waves with a styling tool that traditionally is used for straightening hair)

Follow these steps for trendy waves made popular by Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Alba.

Products Required to Create Wavy Hair

* Blow dryer: ionic and/or ceramic is best to reduce dry time and damage. Recommended product: Paul Mitchell Express Ion Dry v.1

* Comb: professional combs have no seams that tend to break hair. Recommended product: CERAM-ION Wide Tooth Rat Tail Ionic Comb

* Styling product and Thermal Protectant: high hold and protection from high heat. Recommended products: ghd creation spray, Graham Webb’s Making Waves and Paul Mitchell’s Super Skinny Serum are formulated specifically for heat styling and enhancing curls.

* Clips: jaw clips hold large amounts of hair securely. Recommended product: Dannyco Expandable Jaw Clips

* Flat iron: look for one with ceramic plates to seal and smooth strands of hair. Recommended product: ghd IV styler

Prepare the Hair

Apply curl enhancer to wet hair from roots to ends. Thermal protectants like Super Skinny Serum are applied to wet hair, but ghd’s creation spray that provides hold and heat protection is sprayed on dry hair right before applying heat.

Dry

Hair must be dry. Flat irons called ‘wet-to-dry’ claim they can be used directly on damp hair, but do not give the best results. Excess moisture prevents hair from holding style. Let hair dry naturally for less heat damage, or blow dry thoroughly.

Jesse Metcalfe is an American actor born December 9, 1978 in Carmel Valley, California. He is probably best known for his role as John Rowland in the ABC television series Desperate Housewives. He was also seen for a time as the character, Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald on the NBC soap opera Passions. In 2006, he played the title role in the movie John Tucker Must Die.

Jesse wears his hair cut very short. The hairstyle he favors is known as a textured formal. It is appropriate for wear into any work place as well as for a night out on the town or attending a black tie affair.

One of the advantages of such a hairstyle is the ease of taking care of it. Very little if any real effort goes into styling the hair. It is basically just laid down with the fingers and sprayed or gelled to hold it in place. This leaves it with a textured look that would disappear if one were to brush or comb the hair.

Short hairstyles such as this do a good job of framing the face of a young man and highlighting his features. If one has the good looks of someone like Metcalfe, short hair is the only way to go.

He is currently filming the movie adaptation of the 1980s hit television series, "The A Team" in the role of Templeton "Face" Peck.

Two different hairstyles that Cooper has worn recently were both designed to outline his face and show off his features. In 2008, he chose a look that shouted "cool and casual" but formal by having his hair cut uniformly to the same length. This cut allowed his natural waves to show through. Only a small amount of styling gel was needed to maintain the style.

Earlier this year, Cooper was seen with a different cut and style. This style was cut short on the sides and left longer on top. The top hair was then razor cut to give it texture. This is another style that requires very little product to maintain. Style, comfort, and ease of care are trademarks of these Bradley Cooper hairstyles.
